This is the first class in a September 3-week series for adults in Everyday Indian Cookery. The classes are held September 14, September 21, and September 28.
Home-cooked Indian cuisine - with its beautiful balance of colors, textures, and flavors - is very nourishing for the body and soul. The principles of ayurveda, combined with elements of taste, are the basis of everyday Indian cuisine. But how to approach preparing it?
This cooking class series is designed to help create an understanding of how home-cooked Indian meals are orchestrated. Each class will open with a cup of sweet and spicy chai while we discuss Indian food and culture. We will then move on to the cooking demonstration/lesson. And finally, we will enjoy the fruits of our labor - dinner!
Sprinkled throughout each class, you will also learn about the spices and ingredients used in Indian cookery, regional variations in cuisine, as well as how to strategize your time in the kitchen and devise a plan for your own Indian feast.
Dinner will include a variety of chutneys and optional drink pairings!
